But Tehran is a city where you can find new and modern attractions besides the old and traditional ones. We’re going to introduce you to one of the newest attractions in Tehran which has become the contemporary symbol of the city after the Milad Tower or the Azadi Tower. It is the Tabiat Bridge.

Brief History of Tabiat Bridge

It was in 2009 when the Abbas Abad Renovation Company announced a competition for designing a bridge in the north of Tehran. The design of Leila Araghian, who was also the co-founder of an architectural company named Diba Tensile Architecture, won the competition. The idea of this plot was to connect two parks, Ab-o-Atash and Taleghani Parks, together. Therefore, the construction started in 2010 and took 4 years to complete.

The bridge is located over a large highway, so the construction was a big challenge. However, today you can see what a great view it has over this highway. The Tabiat Bridge is the largest pedestrian overpass in Iran which is 270 meters long and consists of two floors. It also has 40 meters height. Moreover, the bridge is so resistant and won’t crack even with a 7-Richter earthquake. The Tabiat Bridge has won several awards and has become one of the major tourist attractions of Tehran.
