With 435 meters height, Milad Tower is the tallest building in Iran and the sixth tallest telecommunication tower in the world. It is also one of the symbols of Tehran besides the Azadi Tower. It is so tall that is visible from every part of the city. Milad Tower is not only a well-known structure in Tehran but also a place for fun. It is a part of the International Trade and Convention Center of Tehran and consists of a Five-star hotel, a convention center, a world trade center and an IT Park.

Brief History about Milad Tower

The construction of a new tower, which was going to be the new symbol of the city, started in 1997. However, it took almost 11 years to complete and officially opened on February 20, 2009. Since then, it became one of the popular places in Tehran for the locals and also the tourists.

Milad Tower Structure

Being the tallest building of the city makes it exposed to the lightning strike. Therefore, there are copper wires in the structure of this tower that conduct the strike from the top to the ground. Milad Tower also consists of three parts.

First is its lobby which includes the 6 floors. 2 floors underground which consist of installing sections and a data center, one on the ground which is the entrance of the tower, and 3 floors on top of it which consist of 63 trade units, 11 food courts, a cafeteria, and a commercial products exhibition.

  1. Shaft

The second part of this tower is its shaft which is a concrete structure and has 315 meters height. The shaft is just used to transfer the visitors to the head of the tower. There are six elevators in each side of the shaft that visitors can use to go to the head of the tower which will only take 50 seconds to get there.

of the tower consists of 12 floors. Therefore, the visitors need to take another elevator to get to the most upper part of the tower. The observation deck is on the last floor from where the visitors can see a panoramic view of Tehran.

Places nearby Milad Tower

Milad Tower is not close to any other tourist attractions of Tehran but in its area, it has a paintball club, fairground and Milad Dolphinarium. The Milad Hotel is also so close to this tower which will only take less than 15 minutes to get there on foot. The distance from the Milad Tower to the Milad Hospital is 2.6 km which can be reached in 12 minutes by car.

How to get to Milad Tower

Milad Tower is located between four highways. Therefore, it is not a place that can be reached on foot. The entrance of the area is from Sheikh Fazollah Nuri Highway. If you get there in your own car, you can easily park the car in the parking lot and get to the tower. But unfortunately, the tower is not accessible by public transportation or even taxi. The best way to get there is to hire a car from the hotel to get you directly to the Milad Tower.
